On the way home from our dipnetting trip, we saw some brown bear
cubs wrestling in the river. There are many bears that hang around
this area because there are tons of salmon. This is the Kenai River
at the Russian River confluence. Human/bear interactions are
common and often end up in a bear getting shot. These are probably
the cubs whose mother was shot last year. It would make them
about 2 years old. You can tell they are young by the white ring
around the neck. Cool, huh!
